Designing Transparent Assignments

About the Module

Are you searching for a framework for designing assignments in a systematic way that is transparent about the purpose, task, and criteria to ensure student success in the learning process. Designing transparent assignments will better demonstrate the meaning, value, and relevance of assignments to students. Participants in this webinar will be shown how to implement this framework by taking an FCS assignment and making it transparent so students know exactly what their FCS educator expects them to achieve in that assignment. Transparency creates a more level playing field for all students.

Presenter will discuss:

  1. Explain why the Transparent Design Assignment Framework helps teacher be more transparent about the purpose of their course content and actions taken;
  2. How teachers can see their classroom from each student's perspective;
  3. How to  analyze an assignment and apply the strategies to make it transparent; and
  4. Show why transparent teaching needs to be aligned with every assignment.
