Whether you are brand new to FCS, a professional whose focus is mainly outside the classroom, or a distinguished professor/instructor, the AAFCS Virtual Professional Development Program (VPD) will provide you with multiple opportunities to enhance your skills and foster a deeper knowledge of current and emerging issues facing individuals, families and communities today.

AAFCS hosts VPD events throughout the year. All events are recorded.  The recordings are available on-demand, whenever it fits YOUR schedule!

  • Our  Virtual Professional Development events are available to AAFCS members only (member benefit). Learn more about membership!
  • VPD events are cross-walked to the National Standards for Family and Consumer Sciences.
  • Each VPD event is approved for either 1 or 1.5 PDUs depending on its length.

Call for Proposals

AAFCS is planning the 2023-2024 Virtual Professional Development Series and invites YOU to contribute to the professional development of our members!  Share your expertise by providing trends, relevant research, best practices, and innovations on FCS related topics. AAFCS is committed to offering outstanding professional development for members in multiple practice settings and across content areas. Proposals are being accepted for the 30 minute recorded sessions.
